A small studio with deep roots

Sepalstack began with a geophysicist. Our founder spent his early career processing seismic data and modeling what lies beneath the ground for energy companies and international governments. That work taught a habit that still shapes everything we do: when the data is huge and messy, find the signal, then show it clearly.

He moved into software, building energy fintech products from scratch: pricing models, due-diligence tools and interactive maps. Along the way he started, scaled and sold a subscription e-commerce company, which taught the other half of the job: software only matters if it helps the business.

Since then he has led analytics, visualization and generative AI projects for global consumer brands, cloud and security companies, a national wireless carrier and a large US bank, where the bar for accuracy, security and auditability is as high as it gets.

Sepalstack brings that experience to growing businesses that need senior engineering without building a large team. The name comes from the sepals that protect a flower bud as it forms, the same role good engineering plays for a business that is growing.
